A few months ago I had the honour of speaking with Mahir Guven, the author of Older Brother (Grand Frère). Guven is a French citizen living in Paris. He was born in France to his refugee parents (mother from Turkey and father from Iraq).

In our conversation, we focus on the theme of belonging-or lack there of. When one is born in a country different from their parents’, and they looks different from the people in the country they are born in, where is home for them?
